Rey tried to fight over the Thala sirens, she sadly was defeated. Her punishment wasn't by death. Her punishment was to be the seat of the thalan-siren leader, Darth Thalan. Where Rey's fate would be forever the slave to the Thala tribe of pleasuring all of the sirens. Rey should be considered lucky that she's in a spot many desired to be in, especially the royal stool until they arrive at the thalan planet

Honestly, the show itself is a mess, but somehow. It translates better to 80s anime since its mostly relying on that for its material. They do make the jump quite well to that era of how anime looked.
